Shibori knitting

There are so many different techniques that one can used to add texture to your knitwear.  We particularly love this popular Japanese technique, called Shibori knitting.  This process involves wrapping a rubber band around a section of fabric to create an interesting design, as depicted below.  Jussi's blog provides more details on this technique so you can try it at home as you begin your next knit piece!

Want to learn more about Shibori knitwear and how to carry out these techniques? The book, Shibori Knits, takes this process a step further with the inclusion of 20 patterns and ideas on how to give an edgy look to your pieces of knitwear. We love Wilde's use of everyday household items to create these unique looks!
